Creation and artistic expression has been something I’ve loved since I was a child. As an adolescent in high school, spending time in art class was freeing, and where I could be my most authentic self.
I grew up in Spencerport, NY and married my high school sweetheart, John Chinappi, an incredible 41 years ago. After raising 3 children – John A, Christina and Michael; moving to South Georgia, South Florida and eventually coming full circle back to Spencerport, I now live in my childhood home and run my family business: Willowcreek Antiques & Interiors.
I found my passion for art again while working as an account rep for Westside News. I met Katherine Weston when she opened Different Path Gallery, now known as Hart Gallery 27. Katherine taught me polymer clay, Peggy Martinez & Diane Elmslie were my first watercolor classes…I took every class I could make time for! Re-discovering my love for painting led me to The Stony Point Art Studio where I enjoyed many classes with instructor Jeannine Pelusio. I also feel blessed to have worked in oils under the internationally known and respected artist Steve Carpenter.
If you asked me to paint what I love…what would it be? Flowers, birds, and still life (usually antiques) are my favorites. My art has been shown at Barnes and Noble,Parma library, Brockport Gallery, and Steve Carpenter’s student show.
They say to make a New Year’s Resolution that is a small action if you want to truly stick to it. Making art a priority in 2022 may be big for some, but it’s definitely the right resolution for me.
